The Roof
A 10 minute short film I made as part of my final major project at University. A story about two brothers who are at odds with each other. Their father has recently passed and their ways of coping couldn’t be more different. One is drowning and the other relies on anger and control. A tumultuous party culminates in an altercation on the roof where they finally try to understand each other.
Pia's Story
A short non-fiction film I made during university. This documentary tells the story of Pia, an newly qualified paediatric intensive care nurse focusing on the jump between being mentored as a student to being left alone and trusted as a nurse. Old video footage of Pia as a child accompanies her as she tells us stories from the hospital, creating a juxtaposition between her carefree nature as a child to her responsibilities now.
I'm So Sick
A project for university to create a music video for a pre-existing song. Using the lyrics and sound to influence the cinematography. I chose the sond I’m so sick by Flyleaf to portray a young troubled woman battling her inner demons and struggles, of which are presented both figuratively and literally in this abstract video.
Aligned
A 10 minute short film I made as part of my final major project at University. A story about obsession and control. A freindly roommate relationship grows toxic when one party starts to manipulate the other through their daily horoscopes. Seperating her from her friends and things she once enjoyed, she is left reliant on him. But he’s not as clever as he thinks and his arrogance reveals his true colours.
Pain Ends
A short film I made during university based on a poem called ‘Pain Ends’ which explores themes of mental health and loneliness. It is narrated throughout. This project is not narrative led, leaning instead on the importance of evoking a feeling a tone, and atmosphere purely through cinematography and sound.
